Melodie is a 16.1 hand Mecklenburg
mare. Melodie's pedigree is full of "blood" and is not a pedigree
that is commonly found here in the U.S. Her sire, Lonely Boy
is by the legendary Landgraf I, and out of a Farnese mare (Assa).
Lonely Boy did his stallion testing in Germany and was 5th in jumping
with an index of 119.07 and 7th overall. This line, 104A , has produced
such notable stallions as Capitano, Carneval, Chico's Boy, Corland,
Contendro and Landego, as well as sport horses Retina, Athlet, Corlanda
and Athletico. In fact, Assa was also the dam of the previously mentioned
Carneval.
Melodie's damsire Monsun is the sire of two licensed sons
in Germany and both had careers in the jumper ring. Melodie produced
one foal in Germany, by Matador xx, before being imported to
the US and according to her breeder in Germany that horse is
currently showing on the jumper circuit. She also has a 1/2 brother
currently competing in Germany at "S" level jumper competitions,
ridden by Renaldo Daehling.
Melodie herself had a very successful career
as a level 6 jumper before being transitioned to the hunter ring.
She continued to show her talent in the Adult Amateur hunters, which
is a testament to her style and temperament. In the Adult Amateur
hunters she had top ribbons at such large shows as the Aiken Spring
Classic. We are thrilled to have her in our broodmare band and can't
wait to see what she will produce for us. Big thanks to her former
owner, Jennifer, for letting her come to us!
