Leading Lady is a Verbands Premium Westfalen mare. She underwent her mare performance testing in Germany; whereshe was 9th out of 56 mares tested! Highlights include her scores of 8 for character, 8 for rideability and 8 for free-jumping. Her overall score was 7.55. Leading Lady's dam is the States Premium Mare Pan Am (Pilot/Pik Bube II). Pan Am has produced two Verbands Premium Mares, a States Premium Mare and a Westfalen stallion candidate. She has also produced at least 5 offspring in Germany that have won/placed highly in both young jumper and open classes (she herself placed in the top 4 in several young jumper and open level L classes before becoming a broodmare). Her most successful jumping offspring to date is Fine Kiss who is currently winning at Level M jumping in Germany. Leading Lady's sire is the Holsteiner stallion Landino (Landgraf I/Lido). Landino has sired a number of outstanding progeny, such as Lanciano (character "10" at the stallion test), who in his turn sired Lord Sinclair, who was sold to Hong Kong for some 1.4 million dollars as a dressage performer.Lanciano's pedigree is actually Landino/Pilot, very similiar to Leading Lady's. Landino also produced the top hunters Without Question and Lute'ce. He is the sire or dam-sire of several approved jumping-type stallions. Leading Lady produced 4 foals in Germany, 3 of which were imported to the U.S prior to her own importation in 2003. One of her daughters in the U.S., by Dinard L, has produced several premium foals, breed show winners and high placers at Devon. We feel that Leading Lady will be a valuable addition to our program and thank her former owner Elizabeth for allowing her to come to us!
