Ojoba
Ojoba (Burggraaf/Calvados) is a 16.3h KWPN mare. She was awarded Ster status at her mare show in Holland and according to her breeder, J. Venderbosch, comes from a very good mare family for sport.
She was imported in 2000 and has since served as a broodmare.
Ojoba was shown in hand and competed in the 2001 Cosequin/USDF Breeders Championships, finishing a very respectable 4th in the mature horse championships, placing higher than a number of approved stallions.
Ojoba produced Zetterberg by Routinier. In 2006, Zetterberg was 1st place USDF HOY 2 year old colts/geldings, and also 1st place USDF KWPN-NA 2 year old colts/geldings. Ojoba also produced Whodini, who is showing successfully in the hunter ring.
Ojoba's pedigree is completely solid. Her sire Burggraaf, combines the highly successful nick of Landgraf x Cor de la Bryere, and has been called one of the greatest showjumping sires of all time. Burggraaf jumped internationally, including clearing the 2.10 meter puissance wall at Indoor Brabant. Burggraaf's character is second to none, and it is well known that he passes this on to his offspring. He sired at least 30 approved sons, and numerous Ster and Keur mares. Burggraaf also makes lovely movers, and produced a few international dressage stars. Burggraaf also has a reputation of being a broodmare producer. Ojoba's damsire, Calvados, was a Selle Francais that became an improvement sire to the Dutch breed. Calvados jumped at the top of the sport, as did his sire, Uriel. Calvados' dam, Gold Rose, was a conformation champion, but also jumped on the French team from 1979 to 1982, winning along the way. Calvados' granddam, Jolie Rose, produced an astounding 6 international showjumpers.
